TIPP Help
TIPP Help is the in-app help chat of TIPP CORE. It opens on a TIPP page and answers questions about the page you are working on, with a short welcome and suggested questions for that page. Anyone who uses TIPP pages can use it whenever they are unsure what a field, button or message means.
Before you start
- To get live AI answers, an AI provider with an API key must be set up on the AI Settings page [Modules, TIPP, Setup, AI Settings]. Supported providers are ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Grok, Mistral and Azure AI.
- Without an API key the chat still works, but only gives built-in answers (offline mode) for a short list of general topics.
- You must be signed in to Synergy and be allowed to open the page. If the session has expired you have to refresh the page.
- The assistant knows which TIPP page you came from, so open it from the page you have a question about.
How to ask a question
- Open TIPP Help from the TIPP page you are on. The header shows the name of that page, and a short welcome message appears. While the welcome loads, the question box is disabled.
- Click one of the suggested questions under the header, or type your own question in the box that says “Ask a question…”.
- Press Enter or click the send button. Press Shift and Enter together to start a new line without sending.
- Wait for the three moving dots to finish. The answer appears in the chat as a short text, usually two to four sentences or a few bullet points.
- Ask a follow-up question the same way. Each question is answered on its own; the assistant does not use your earlier questions as background.
How to get live AI answers instead of built-in answers
- When the yellow notice “No AI provider configured. Showing built-in answers.” is visible, click “Set up AI” in the notice. The AI Settings page opens.
- On the AI Settings page choose a provider, paste the API key, pick a model and save.
- Open TIPP Help again and ask your question.
Screen guide
Header
- Title and page name: shows “TIPP Help” and the name of the page you came from. For TIPP pages the assistant does not have a name for, it shows “TIPP”.
- Page badge: the same page name shown as a label on the right.
Notice bar
- “No AI provider configured. Showing built-in answers.”: appears after the assistant has answered from its built-in list. The “Set up AI” link opens the AI Settings page.
Suggested questions
- Chips under the header: ready-made questions for the page, for example “How do I get an API key?” on AI Settings or “What does this snapshot show?” on a snapshot page. Click one to ask it immediately. On a page without its own set, the chips are “What is TIPP?”, “How do I configure AI?”, “Where do I find the license?” and “How do I get support?”.
Chat area
- Your messages show your initials; the assistant’s messages show a question mark.
- Ask a question… box: type your question here. It is disabled while the assistant is working.
- Send button: sends the question. It is disabled while the assistant is working.
- Footer: “Powered by TIPP AI”.
Which AI provider is used
- If the page was opened for a specific provider and that provider has an API key, it is used.
- Otherwise TIPP uses the first provider that has an API key, checked in this order: ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Grok, Mistral, Azure AI.
- If no provider has an API key, built-in answers are shown.
- If a live AI call fails, the assistant falls back to the built-in answer.
What the assistant answers from
- With an AI provider, the assistant is given the official TIPP documentation article for the current page and is told to answer from it and not invent menu paths, field names or features. If no article exists for the page, or it cannot be loaded, it gives general guidance.
- Built-in answers cover: getting started, where to get API keys, which provider to choose, the Model field, the Azure AI deployment name, the license, what you can ask in AI Chat, saving a chat, what the AI sees, AI datasets, the back-office connection and support. Any other question gets the reply that there is no built-in answer, with a tip to set up an API key and the support address tipp@tice-it.com.
Messages and what to do
- “Sorry, I could not get a response.” followed by a reason: the answer failed. Read the reason. “Session expired. Refresh the page.” means reload TIPP Help and ask again. “Empty question.” means you sent nothing; type a question.
- “Request failed: …”: the page could not reach the help service. Check your connection, refresh and try again.
- “Hi! I am the TIPP Help Assistant. Ask me anything about this page.”: shown instead of the personal welcome when the welcome could not be generated. You can still ask questions.
- “No AI provider configured. Showing built-in answers.”: no API key is set. Click “Set up AI” or ask your administrator to add one on AI Settings.
- “I don’t have a specific built-in answer for that”: offline mode has no answer for your question. Set up an AI provider to get answers for any question, or email tipp@tice-it.com.
What you cannot do here
- You cannot change any TIPP or Exact data from the chat; it only answers questions.
- You cannot choose the provider or model inside the chat. Those are set on AI Settings.
- You cannot save the conversation; it is not kept after you close the window.
- Answers are only as complete as the documentation for the current page. If the question is not covered, the assistant says so and gives general guidance.

Common questions
- What is TIPP Help? It is a chat assistant that answers questions about the TIPP page you are on. Ask in your own words or click a suggested question.
- Why does it say “No AI provider configured”? No API key is saved for any provider, so only built-in answers are available. Add a key on AI Settings [Modules, TIPP, Setup, AI Settings] to get live answers.
- How do I send a question? Type it in the “Ask a question…” box and press Enter, or click the send button. Shift and Enter adds a new line.
- Why is the question box greyed out? The assistant is still loading the welcome or answering the previous question. It becomes available again when the answer appears.
- Which AI provider does it use? The requested provider if it has an API key, otherwise the first with a key in this order: ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Grok, Mistral, Azure AI.
- What does “Session expired. Refresh the page.” mean? Your Synergy session or the help session ended. Refresh TIPP Help and ask again.
- Why does the assistant say it cannot answer something? The question is not covered by the documentation of the current page, or no AI is set up and the built-in list has no match. Set up AI or contact tipp@tice-it.com.
- Does it remember my earlier questions? No. Each question is answered separately, so include the details in every question.
- Can it change data for me? No. It only explains and gives instructions.
- How do I contact support? Email tipp@tice-it.com and include the page you were on, the AI provider in use and the exact error message.
